One night, I dreamed of being a researcher, and today I’m…
#HumansofSTEAM
I had never dreamt of being a researcher or a chemistry engineer until I discovered math and chemistry, which were to me much harder than other subjects. I had the good luck of finding researchers in my path, both in the UC and abroad (France, Japan, the Netherlands) that shared their experience with me, and guided me when I was about to get lost. In my research field is easy to get lost, because it opens the door to research about the development of new processes, like the making of new materials with sustainability criteria, while you enjoy learning. That last point balances those night when nothing in the lab seems to work, and the only escape is to ride your bike around campus to release tension, as I did in Hiroshima when I was tired of being unable to communicate with my Japanese co-workers
Research allowed me to meet different people, live in faraway places and come back, write and travel, and even now I can’t, my membranes still travel. I hope you tell me about your adventures!
